Quilt no 10

Cinnamon Star
I made a dresden plate from some christmas fabric, as this little quilt will probably go to its new home about Christmas time.  I machine appliqued it to a cinnamon coloured background (hence the name). Did some random straightline quilting, stitched cream stars on to the tone on tone holly fabric, and attached a red bead to each point. It has an envelope back to enable it to be displayed, and is embroidered with details of when and who made it.

Quilt no 9

Whose Garden?
A minature version of a 'Don't Look Now' pattern!  The flowers and butterflies have been attached using bondaweb and then stitched in place to secure.  The background is free motion quilted using a flower design.

Mixed media on felt and cotton, doll fabric wrap.

Quilt no 7

Autumn Falls
It has a hand dyed cotton background.  Leaf printed tea bags are embellished with muslin, feathers, free motion stitched leaves on tulle, beads and 'inchies'.

Quilt no 6

Country Gardens
The flower centers and the side triangles are hand appliqued.  It is machine quilted.  I added a sleeve and label after the photos were taken.

Quilt no 5

Untitled
It's based on a picture of salt terraces, each having a slightly different color and edges of crystals.  Its made of layers of organza, embroidered with floss, each strip consisting of at least three colors of French knots and tied with silk thread.

Quilt no 4

Untitled
It is made of a handdyed fabric on a commercial one (the blue one). It is patched and quilted by machine. When the quilt was already quilted, I added some stamping and some threads.

Quilt no 3

Joyful Dancer
First I created a quilt with a lot of texture from different fabrics and treatments of those fabrics. Then I painted over the whole surface.

Quilt no 2

Funky Gingko Leaves
Background is an ice dyed parfait, the leaves are made from commercial batiks.

Quilt no 1

Untitled
This quilt is a hand appliqued traditional block with "meaning".  Bluebirds are for happiness; flower for beauty and trophy for good fortune.  So whoever receives this will receive a blessing for the year of happiness, beauty and good fortune.
