All cotton, hand-dyed fabric (with tea bags), thread sketching, gold fabric paint accents with button/paua shell beads.

Owls T(h)ree

It is made from brown stripes (all out of the scrapbag). I ironed painted vliesofix (mistyfuse) on it and after this a black chiffon. Then sewed on it with a zigzag stitch. Then made three different holes, put owls behind and between real lace from St. Gallen, Switzerland! Backing and a binding! Finished.

Let it snow

This quilt was inpsired by a snowy photo, and a desire to experiment more with texture. Pleats hide icy jewels with larger fabric / buckram snowflakes.

A square of hand stitched glitz, silk etc button hole stitched onto a flax ( I think) background with coronne stick circles and backed with cotton.

Fused raw edge applique. Machine quilted with a layer of tulle.

I know I've uploaded some photos - and there will be more before the end of the week - but the deadline is not until 31st January - I just wanted to share some for inspiration, and also, try to avoid having to upload them all at once!

Tree in the Snow

We have had a lot of snow over here, so I wanted to do something with that. I also wanted to try and make a quilt that has no squared off edges. I pieced the background out of three pieces of handdyed fabrics, the tree is embroidered by machine and the wisps of mist are strips of scrim and organza.
